Perfect Bridal sHoes

November 2nd, 2010

It had been a very busy week for me so i have no time to updating my blog lately. My friend is getting married and she’s looking for a shoe.. so,I got an idea,  I browse up, and found this article. I think it is very interesting.. enjoy it..

Choosing the perfect pair of bridal shoes requires equal parts of fashion  sense and common sense. Read on for some great tips to help you find bridal shoes that fit your style perfectly

Consider the season. While anything goes in warm summer months, closed toe styles are best for cooler weather. If you really want to show some skin in chilly weather consider a peep-toe or a mule or sling back with a closed toe.

Flat heels are a great choice for outdoor weddings.

Consider your venue. If your ceremony reception is to take place on grass or sand, stay away from skinny heels which sink into soft ground and get dirty fast. Flats are really stylish right now and they’re perfect for outdoors. If you want some height, look for a wide, broad heel or a wedge.

Crystal embellishments give shoes a formal look.

Consider the formality of your wedding . Fancy flip flops are a big trend right now in bridal shoes and if your celebration is laid back, go for it. Formal gowns and big churches call for something like a classic pump or pretty slingback. Embroidery, crystals and other embellishments up the formal factor as well.

Beads and pearls look great against a plain hemline.

Consider your gown. If your dress has a lot of lace or embellishment at the hem choose a shoe with minimal decoration so the two looks don’t compete. Hemlines with little or no decoration look fabulous against shoes with lots of sparkle or flirty bows tied over the vamp.

Strut your stuff in heels – if you’re used to them!

Consider your comfort level. Your wedding day isn’t the time to be trying out a pair of 4-inch heels if you normally stumble in your 2-inch work pumps. Hate to show your toes? Then stay away from those barely-there sandals, no matter how gorgeous they are. You want your bridal shoes to make you feel confident as well as beautiful.

A bride and her ‘maids should wear shoes that complement one another.

Consider your bridesmaids. You certainly don’t have to wear the same shoes as your gals but like the dresses, try to find some consistency in style like a closed toe or an ankle strap.

Owning shoes is something most men hate to discuss. Men are also not so conscious about their shoes and most are happy owning only two or three shoes. Generally men wear shoes that are needed most. Those men who do heavy work would prefer to wear work boots. On the other hand, those who are athletes know the importance of good shoes for the game or sport and probably have all the shoes that are needed. But what about the other times when these sportsmen are not playing or practicing something? Therefore you should choose some shoes that are acceptable for all occasions. In this way you can avoid going to a party wearing your sports shoes, or avoid scurrying to the store to buy the right shoe for an occasion. Keep a note of the following essential things relating to men’s shoes because it can help you from lot of embarrassment and harassment at the same time.

General Rules for Men’s Shoes

  • Try to pick a shoe that matches, or is darker than your pants.
  • Although it is a safe bet, socks do not need to match your shoes. Instead, think of your socks as you would a tie – an item that can bring bring the whole outfit together.
  • If wearing a belt, try to match your shoes to it, unless of course, your belt is some multi-colored striped thing.

Men’s Shoes for Jeans

You can wear almost any color or style of shoe with jeans, but avoid very shiny shoes that were obviously intended for more dressier outfits.

Boots, lug soles, sneakers, loafers and sandals all work great with jeans, so you may find it helpful to let the style of your shirt guide you.

For example, a sporty, polo shirt might work with a loafer; t-shirts go well with sneakers or retro-style shoes; long, artsy button-downs work well with sandals or contemporary styles.

Men’s Shoes for Casual Pants

Whether you call them Dockers, chinos, or khakis, there are a variety of loafers, oxford and other men’s shoes that work well with casual pants.

Let the ornamentation and style of the shoe guide you towards the look you’re trying to achieve.

For example, a tassle or a buckle is a little more on the dressy side, while a woven pattern or heavy stitching is a little more on the casual side.

Men’s Shoes for Dress Pants

With dress pants, shoot for the same type of shoe that you might wear with a suit. Shinier materials usually indicate a dressier shoe, as do less bulky heels and soles. Choose a shoe that is the same color or darker than your pants, and if wearing a belt, match your shoes to it.

Color Matching for Men’s Shoes

  • Black shoes work well with navy, grey or black pants.
  • Brown shoes are best suited to tan, brown, beige, greens, other darker earth tones.
  • Burgundy shoes work well with khaki, lighter browns, blue and grey.
  • Tan shoes look great with lighter earth tones, blue, beige, lighter tan or white.

Greenovating your life has just infiltrated the jewelry world with Hafsteinn Juliusson’s ‘Growing Jewelry.’ Juliusson’s rings are redefining modern values, fusing the industrial with the natural.

Juliusson describes the growing jewelry as being ideal for those city dwellers who need an extra splash of greenery in their otherwise overwhelmingly concrete lives. Along with the four-finger brass knuckles, there are necklaces and single rings to add some greenery and nature to your life!

It is important to take care of the Growing Jewelry. For best results water it only once every 5 weeks and be careful not to water too much. It’s also good to store the ring in deep freeze to preserve it. The moss can stay green for up to 8 – 12 months but Hafsteinn Juliusson takes no responsibility for that :)

I absolutely love these modern and fluid looking sterling silver animal pendants that hang from snake chains by jewelry designer markus Diebel!

He’s artfully rendered a dog, a sloth, a gorilla and a bat in 100% sterling silver in his San Francisco studio and to make them even more desirable, 5% of sales of each piece benefit WildAid, a nonprofit dedicated to ending illegal wildlife trade within our lifetimes.

Details on Markus’s creatures —Sloth, Bat, Gorilla and Pug— are detailed on the backside of his innovative black bubble packaging. Solid silver on a sterling chain
